HOW IT WORKS?

The core idea is to combine a prefix with base verb and create a verb that actually has a meaning. Or two. Or three.

You'll practice verbs you already know, learn and repeat new ones and you train your intuition and creativity. Because... a lucky guess is always an option.

WHAT LEVEL IS THE GAME FOR?

The game starts being a lot of fun roughly from level A2 and it's still fun (or even funnerer) when you’re already fluent.

For absolute beginners, there will be a LOT of new vocabulary, so it might be overwhelming.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1 / What does the game consist of

The game is a US poker sized deck of 72 cards, including some blanks that you can use to add your own prefixes and verbs.

There's a 24 page small booklet with different playing options and a short glossary for the important terms.

Overall, you can create over 400 prefix verbs with the game, incuding the most common ones in daily life.

2 / What's the prefix verb dictionary

The prefix verb dictionary is a new type of dictionary that's specifically designed for prefix verbs to make it easy and intuitive to explore them.

It serves as a reference for the game, but we'll expand it over time and make THE BEST  resource for German prefix verbs.

All entries, translations and examples are hand made by us without AI and with a specific focus on learners.

Eventually, we'll make it into a proper app.

Youc an find the dictionary here:

3 / What are the rules of the game?

The core idea is to combine a prefix and a verb and give a meaning for the result. For instance the card "auf" and the card "gehen" form "aufgehen", which can have several meanings.

Based on this core concept, there are various modes of playing including single player modes. They're explained in detail in the booklet that comes with the game.

We've also put them up on the dictionary, though that's a bit rough looking still :)

4 / Are you shipping outside of Europe?

Yes, we ship pretty much worldwide.

5 / Where can we buy the game?

We're working on setting up a shop and bringing it to online stores, but for now, you can buy the game by sending us an email.
